The 2024 Volvo China Open will return to the DP World Tour global schedule in May with a total prize fund of $2.25 million.
The event will take place from May 2 to 5 at Hidden Grace Golf Club in Shenzhen. With the return to the DP World Tour, the 29th Volvo China Open will not only welcome a strong lineup of participants but will also present many highlights, from multiple hole-in-one awards to a golf heritage study tour. There will also be a debut of brand new products and group games, all of which will provide golf fans with a rich and diverse on-site experience.
The title sponsor of the tournament, Volvo Cars, will set up vehicle displays and brand interactive experiences in the public village. There will also be vehicles for test-driving. The brand fit between Volvo and golf and the features of the vehicles will be fully demonstrated to the public in multi dimensions.
Sponsors including Volvo Cars, Hidden Grace Golf Club, DP World, FILA Golf, Costco, Bluewater, Beachhead and RG Golf will team up in the public village to present and build a brand matrix. The public village at this year’s Volvo China Open will feature an array of the latest products, as well as a variety of interactive games. Of particular note is the Happy Dream Factory, specifically created by RG Golf for the tournament.
Whether it’s the leading players from the DP World Tour or elite players from the China Tour, some of the game’s most popular professional players will visit the public activity area under an arrangement by the organizing committee to teach, pose for photos, sign autographs and engage with fans.
“As the Volvo China Open returns during the May Day holiday and the DP World Tour returns to China for the first time in five years, we expect a very large group of spectators to visit Shenzhen Hidden Grace Golf Club,” said Michel Zhao, chairperson of the Volvo China Open board of directors. “We aim to better serve this audience and attract more golf beginners–even first time participants–to the event. By creating a welcoming, safe and entertaining tournament atmosphere, our competition will offer a diversified and fun experience for everyone to enjoy.”
The 29th Volvo China Open will begin ticket sales soon.
