TMRW SPORTS, the sports and entertainment company co-founded by Tiger Woods and Rory McIlroy, has reportedly been selected by the National Football League (NFL) to operate a new professional flag football league, according to a report by Sportico. TMRW was one of around a dozen groups bidding to become the league’s operational partner.
The company’s indoor golf competition, TGL, is currently in its second season. The league features teams of four PGA Tour players competing in simulator-based matches at the SoFi Center in Palm Beach Gardens, with both Woods and McIlroy taking part.
In January, TMRW also announced the creation of the WTGL, set to launch next winter. The competition will bring together leading players from the LPGA Tour in a similar simulator-based format.
According to the report, TMRW will now expand beyond golf to help develop a professional flag football circuit, a project high on the NFL’s priority list. League owners voted in December to invest more than $30 million to launch the competition. Flag football was a centrepiece of this year’s NFL Pro Bowl and is also set to feature at the 2028 Summer Olympics in Los Angeles.
The partnership between TMRW Sports and the NFL is not entirely unexpected. Arthur Blank, owner of the Atlanta Falcons, is among TMRW’s primary financial backers and has attended several TGL matches. Other investors include Mark Wilf, owner of the Minnesota Vikings, as well as NFL players such as Josh Allen of the Buffalo Bills and former Dallas Cowboys quarterback Tony Romo, both keen golfers.
