MUMBAI: Football in India is gaining further numbers after the FIFA World Cup as the Toyota Yaris LaLiga World Tournament, the pre-season triangular series featuring Indian Super League’s Kerala Blasters, A-League’s Melbourne City FC and LaLiga’s Girona FC is being broadcast and streamed live in 50 countries around the world.
While Star India is the exclusive broadcaster of the tournament in India, LaLiga TV is showing these fixtures in Spain and media giant beIn Sport has the rights for the MENA and South East Asia regions respectively.
A LaLiga side coming to play for the first time in India has grabbed eyeballs as Girona FC is also involved in giving back to the society by holding a coaching camp with local children in Kerala’s commercial capital Kochi, where the matches are being held at the Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium.
LaLiga World has been organising and making various efforts to spread awareness of football and other sports via events. This event is expected to be one of the biggest based on the constant support and enthusiastic response from football fans.
