MUMBAI: Two weeks after launching the TSG Football School, The Sports Gurukul on Friday officially announced the formation of the TSG Basketball School in association with Core Focus Training (CFT) from the USA.
This school will provide an opportunity for budding basketball players to get coaching at the grassroots and the professional level. CFT have designated their coaches to share their experience with kids and local coaches and supervise and monitor the entire program. They will be assisted by local TSG coaches, who will get an opportunity to work closely with CFT coaches to learn some of the intricacies of the game and improve their coaching techniques.
“The passion for basketball in India and the desire to have industry leading coaching is evident. With this partnership, we believe we can not only help to develop the Indian talent, but provide them with a development pathway that has been proven around the world time and time again.” Paresh Kothari, Co-founder of TSG said.
Jason Benadretti, the founder of CFT, who was present at the opening, said: “In my visits to some local schools in the community, it was clear to me the drive the kids have to take their talents to the next level. I believe the TSG Basketball School is able to perfectly provide that outlet for them to enhance their athletic abilities.”
Scouts associated with the program will select talented basketball players who would get an opportunity to be trained at American academies and clubs.
