UPKL S2 returns with expanded b’cast, streaming

UTTAR PRADESH KABADDI LEAGUE (UPKL) Season 2 is set to make its return, with matches to be broadcast on Zee Bollywood, &Pictures HD, and Anmol Cinema 2, and streamed on ZEE5. Beginning 24 December, fans can look forward to high-energy contests featuring some of India’s most exciting kabaddi talent, accompanied by Hindi commentary.

UPKL has evolved into a strong advertiser-driven property, attracting major brands thanks to its loyal fanbase, rising viewership, and the sport’s growing popularity across regions. Promoted by brand ambassador Rahul Chaudhari, the league is positioned as one of India’s largest state-level sports competitions, according to the release.

This season will feature 69 matches played over 18 days, promising sustained, action-packed kabaddi entertainment for audiences nationwide.

Zee Entertainment Enterprises Limited business head – Zee Sports Bhavesh Janavlekar said, “Z’s sports strategy is anchored on championing indigenous sports and UPKL offers a strong opportunity to elevate regional excellence to the national stage. Kabaddi holds a deep emotional resonance in Indian households, and through the extensive reach of these channels airing the league, we look forward to further strengthening this connection. With the league’s rising popularity and its highly engaged, diverse fan base, UPKL offers strong value for brands. We remain committed to elevating this league and ensuring its long-term success.”

SJ Uplift Kabaddi founder & director Sambhav Jain added, “Having UPKL broadcast across three channels this season, along with the addition of OTT, significantly expands the league’s reach. This distribution allows us to connect with viewers across different regions and age groups. With daily matches scheduled between 5 p.m. to 10 p.m., audiences now have far greater access to the action, whether on television or digitally. We see this as an important step in strengthening the league’s visibility and ensuring that more households across the country can experience UPKL.”
