HYDERABAD: Chennai based Pro Kabaddi franchise Tamil Thalaivas has appointed Viren D’Silva, previously CEO of Kerala Blasters Football Club in the Indian Super League, as chief executive officer.
Among D’Silva’s first executive decisions towards building a refreshed unit for Tamil Thalaivas, was the announcememnt Monday of Edachery Bhaskaran as team coach for the upcoming season of the Pro Kabaddi League.
As the former U Mumba Coach Edachery Bhaskaran takes over the reigns as head coach while his predecessor Kasinatha Baskaran transitions to the role of technical director – Thalaivas’ Strategic Grassroot Program.
Commenting on the new appointments, D’Silva shared: “We welcome coach Edachery Bhaskaran to the Tamil Thalaivas family. We thank coach Kasinatha Baskaran for his leadership in the PKL Season 5 and for taking up the new role in the Strategic Grassroot Program for Tamil Nadu. We wish both coaches all the best ahead.”
D’Silva has been involved with multiple sports in India including IPL. As a member of World Sport Group, D’Silva was amongst the first people to have ventured into IPL broadcasting on television.
D’Silva has extensive experience in television as well as digital media. He specialises in sports and related broadcasting.
