World Archery bids to mediate in AAI feuding

NEW DELHI: World Archery has extended an olive branch to the de-recognised Archery Association of India by appointing its first vice-president Kazi Rajib Uddin Ahmed Chapol as the “mediator” to resolve the feud within the Indian federation, which has seen two factions announcing two separate elections on June 9.

Chapol will hold a meeting with the two AAI factions in the capital on June 7 in an effort to cancel both the elections and instead hold one election on June 24.

The world body has also warned of “immediate suspension” of the AAI if the competing factions go ahead with their stated plans of holding separate elections.
