Topps, the leading trading card and collectible company, on Wednesday announced a long-term partnership with WWE.
The collaboration was always on the cards after Fanatics acquired Topps in early 2022, and soon after announced a long-term partnership that would include trading cards.
On Instagram, Topps gave fans a preview of upcoming cards featuring Shawn Michaels, CM Punk, and Rhea Ripley.
Per a statement from Topps’ website: “As WWE reaches unprecedented heights, Topps celebrates the legacy with the return of WWE trading cards in 2025. These aren’t just cards—they’re your gateway to relive iconic moments, collect autographs from Superstars like Jey Uso, and own unique pieces of WWE history, such as ring mat relics.”
The upcoming set will also feature a signed one-of-one trading card of Undisputed WWE Champion Cody Rhodes. “This card will be inserted into ONE LUCKY PACK of 2025 Topps Chrome WWE,” Topps revealed on Instagram.
For the record, WWE previously worked with Topps from 2005 until the end of 2021. Panini became WWE’s trading card partner the same year, but subsequently parted ways following a legal battle.
Per cagesideseats.com, pro wrestling trading cards date as far back as the late 1800s. In 1985, Topps first teamed with WWE, then known as the World Wrestling Federation, to release Topps WWF Pro Wrestling Stars. In 1992, Topps and World Championship Wrestling came together with a UK-exclusive series of cards. Topps and WCW hooked up again in the late ‘90s during the Monday Night Wars.
In the 2000s, Topps produced several series of cards for WWE. Topps released its final WWE set, Topps Finest, at the end of 2021. The upcoming line promises to have autographed cards and special cards with pieces of the ring mat from Cody Rhodes’ WrestleMania XL victory. Topps WWE Chrome will be available on January 31.
