Xiaomi strengthens Indian sports presence with FC Goa sponsorship

GOA: Xiaomi, the Chinese smartphone brand has entered into the Indian Super League (ISL) foray by agreeing to become the title sponsor of the Virat Kohli-owned FC Goa team. The company’s logo will be seen at the centre of the FC Goa jersey during Season 5 of the competition.

The development was confirmed by the club on its official Twitter page on Saturday with a tweet that read: “Here’s to smarter moves and creative innovations! We are thrilled to have @XiaomiIndia on board for the season! #NowWeRise #ForcaGoa”

This is Xiaomi’s second association with an Indian sports team, having recently been confirmed as one of the sponsors for the JSW Sports-owned Haryana Steelers in Season 6 of the upcoming Pro Kabaddi League.

Also known as The Gaurs, the 2015 finalists FC Goa have managed to rope in Colors, the Viacom18 entertainment channel, Sqad Gear, Inox Cinemas and Norbert’s Gym amongst its other sponsors.
