NEW DELHI: The Badminton Association of India (BAI) has signed a contract worth Rs. 75 crore with sports equipment maker Yonex Sunrise, the PTI reports. As part of the deal, Yonex will supply equipments for all BAI-accredited tournaments, camps and academies in India in exchange of holding title sponsorship rights for all BAI tournaments for the next 3 years.
BAI President Himanta Biswa Sarma was pleased with the development. āWe would like to thank Yonex-Sunrise for their continuous support to Indian badminton. We are really very happy with this new deal going through and will give us financial stability going forward and will help us to develop and promote the sport further in the country.ā, Sarma was quoted as saying to PTI.
