ZEE5 unites Kolkata’s football fans with the FIFA WC 2026 carnival

ZEE 5 HOSTED A football carnival at Vivekananda Park on Sunday to celebrate the FIFA World Cup 2026. The rally was flagged off by West Bengal’s Minister of Youth Services & Sports, Dr. Indranil Khan.

The event drew over 1,100 participants, including football fan clubs, local artists, and sports figures like Aloke Mukherjee, Biswajit Bhattacharya, and Rahim Nabi. Entertainment was provided by dhakis, chau dancers, cheerleaders, and celebrities such as Vikram Chatterjee and Priyanka Sarkar.

The procession travelled through South Kolkata, featuring music, themed installations, and fan zones to combine local cultural heritage with the sport.

The carnival aligns with Zee 5’s strategy to host on-ground experiences tied to major broadcast events. By leveraging the FIFA World Cup 2026, the platform aims to engage sports fans through local cultural events and community initiatives.
