GURUGRAM: Apollo Tyres Millennium City Marathon (MCM), conceptualized by Abhishek Mishra, ULTRAMAN & IRONMAN Triathlete and CEO – Tabono Sports & Events Pvt Ltd, will be partnering with Municipal Corporation of Gurgaon (MCG) to promote water conservation for the 2019 edition.
Milind Soman, who completed the Ironman challenge in 2015 and the ULTRAMAN in Florida in 2017 along with Mishra, will join the Millennium City Marathon 2019 as brand ambassador.
Mishra said: “The Millennium City Marathon is hosted to promote running, which is the simplest way of keeping fit and therefore should be adopted as a lifestyle. The event’s bigger goal is to engage people in community sports and form communities, which share a sense of comradeship through running.”
For this edition of the running event, leading tyre maker, Apollo Tyres will join the MCM bandwagon as title sponsor.
Satish Sharma, president, Asia Pacific, Middle East and Africa, Apollo Tyres Ltd, and a marathon runner himself, said: “A fit and healthy lifestyle is imperative for everybody and there’s no better way to promote fitness than long distance running. In a first, the marathon will host a Kids’ run category. The 5km timed race will be open for children aged 12 years and above.
The registrations for each of the race categories will be open until November 15 or as soon as running places are full, whichever is earlier.
