LONDON: Glasgow-based smart mobile marketing agency Digitonic is expanding into Asia with the opening of an office in Lucknow.
The Uttar Pradesh state capital was chosen due to its relatively close proximity to all Indian Premier League cricket teams, Scottish media reported.
The firm said it has identified the Indian market as having potential for its smart mobile marketing solutions. To tap into this potential, Digitonic said it has appointed digital marketeers and sports journalists in India. The company has plans to make further hires in both sales and content roles in the coming months.
Grant Fraser, CEO of Digitonic, commented: “As consumer spending rapidly increases, India will become an increasingly important and attractive market for businesses across the globe. As such, it is critical that we are able to help our clients acquire and retain customers in this growing market to ensure they are able to fully capitalise on the opportunities it has to offer.”
The company has already built up a rapidly growing ‘opt-in’ Indian advertising network that consists of just under two million Indian cricket fans. It has also invested in developing new content platforms, including a recently-launched cricket news website to help brands reach the Indian consumer market.
Digitonic reported a 44% revenue growth in its last financial year and recently secured investment valuing the business at £10 million.
