JAIPUR: Indian Premier League (IPL) side Rajasthan Royals will be seen in action tonight in their first game of the 2019 season, flaunting their new ‘pink’ jersey for the first time on the field.
To add value to their new, much-hyped jersey, the franchise has sealed its deal with JK Lakshmi Cement as its principal sponsor in the nick of time for the second season in a row.
Additionally, the Singhania-group brand has reportedly extended its contract with the IPL franchise for the next 4-5 years according to SportsMirchi.
In 2018, JK Lakshmi Cement paid Rs 110 million to the Royals. However, this year, the value of the contract has risen to Rs 150 million per year. It is pretty much at par with the likes of rivals Chennai Super Kings (CSK), which struck a deal with a similar deal with finance firm Muthoot Group last year worth Rs 150-160 million approximately.
JK Lakshmi Cement MD Shailendra Chouksey commented on the association: “It has been a power-packed journey for us as well as the Royals and the decision to continue our association, was, but natural. While both JK Lakshmi and Rajasthan Royals hail from the state, the aspiration of both partners is to constantly strive to rise, improve and scale newer heights. “Rajasthan Royals have shown the unmatched temperament last season and this year, it will come forth as a strong contender for the championship.”
In fact, inspired by its impactful association with the Rajasthan Royals during IPL 2018, JK Lakshmi Cement launched a new brand named as JK Sixer Cement, a product which attributes the winning strokes to all class of constructions like the most scoring shot in cricket. The theme of cricket captured in the JK Sixer Cement was well appreciated in various markets.
As part of this season’s deal between JK Lakshmi and the Royals; logos of JK Sixer, the official sponsor in the current season of IPL 2019, will flash on the back of helmets and caps of the squad.
Rajasthan Royals executive chairman Ranjit Barthakur added: “We are delighted to have JK Lakshmi Cement, our last year’s sponsor, back this season again. This consistency in collaboration I am sure, will strengthen the performance of Rajasthan Royals and JK Lakshmi as a brand.”
