GWALIOR: The All India Football Federation (AIFF) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the reputed Lakshmibhai National Institute of Physical Education (LNIPE) in the Madhya Pradesh city for developing football in the state as well as using its facilities for training by national teams.
LNIPE were already being used by the AIFF’s referees for quite some time, but on an unofficial basis. Now the same partnership had been formalized into an MoU which also includes coaches and players.
The institute will help in their as its in-house facilities range from rehabilitation centres to astro turfs and multipurpose courts.
AIFF general secretary Kushal Das stated: “I was really impressed with the infrastructure and facilities provided. The AIFF in association with LNIPE would largely contribute to the development of Indian football ranging from the referees to coaches”.
In December 2018, the AIFF had organised a five-day FIFA Women’s Youth Course at the institute for 19 Indian women coaches who are AIFF D-licence holders.
