93.5 Red FM SRH principal sponsor for 7th year in a row

HYDERABAD: Indian Premier League (IPL) franchise Sunrisers Hyderabad has confirmed one of India’s top radio channels, 93.5 Red FM as its main sponsor yet again for the 2019 season.

Since the franchise’s inception in 2013, the brand has been a regular feature on the player jerseys. It is interesting to note that SRH and Red FM are owned by the same parent company, Sun TV Network which has its headquarters in Chennai and was founded by the prominent Tamil Nadu politician, Kalanidhi Maran.

As part of this year’s partnership, the entertainment quotient will be a notch higher as the radio channel aims to give the fans a sneak peek into the team through a campaign called ‘Kaan Cricket’. Red FM listeners across the country will witness exciting content on radio and across digital platforms.

The listeners will get to participate in on-air contests, ‘Kaan laga ke sun’ and ‘Fastest Kaan First’ to test their cricket knowledge and win exciting prizes by the end of each week. The digital assets of Red FM (the website, app and social media handles) will carry exciting behind the scenes content of SRH.

Red FM COO Nisha Narayanan stated: “We are really excited to be extending our association with Sunrisers Hyderabad for 7th year in a row. Over the years, both the brands have benefitted immensely from the association and given their listeners and fans exciting content which is not available elsewhere. We look forward to this year’s association and have plans to give our listeners more of cricket and SRH, bigger and better than the previous years. Brand RED will be buzzing with cricketing content over the next two months. On behalf of the RED FM team, we wish Sunrisers Hyderabad a successful season ahead.”

SRH CEO K Shanmugham added: “We are delighted to have Red FM as our principal sponsor for seventh year in a row. SunRisers Hyderabad is currently in its best form and we expect an extraordinary IPL season this time. Our association with Red FM will help us elevate the engagement to another level as we plan to create gripping entertainment for the cricket fans.”

The franchise also confirmed its association with a leading name in the Indian fabric and apparel industry, Grado from the house of GBTL and OCM as its principal sponsor and cotton blazer partner this season.

Grado will have its logo presence on the SRH jersey, on-perimeter board, visible branding on the giant screen and collaterals for cheering at the stadium. Along with this, there will be a stand named as ‘Grado’ reserved for ardent Sunrisers fans on their home turf. An experiential space will also be created for the cricket aficionados.

Additionally, there will be a promotional campaign made with cricketers such as Kane Williamson, Bhuvneshwar Kumar and Yusuf Pathan which will feature them wearing the brand’s special summer cotton collection.

Grado mentor Rajendra Agarwal commented on the partnership: “The opportunity to collaborate with Sunrisers Hyderabad as their Principal Sponsor was a momentous stride for us. Our brand and SRH have a lot in common – team spirit, hard-work, well-synced functions and continued dedication. These synchronicities also abetted the launch of our Cotton Collection. The SRH team perfectly dovetails into our brand ethos of simplicity and sophistication.”

The brand came into national prominence in September 2018 when it named veteran Hindi film actor Amitabh Bachchan as its India ambassador.
