THIRUVANTHAPURAM: ‘SportX Kerala-2019’, an international sports-specific exhibition will be conducted for the first time by the government of Kerala at the city’s Jimmy George Indoor Stadium during the next three years, UNI reports.
The expo will be the perfect platform for more than 100 top sports goods and equipment manufacturers in the state to sell a wide range of products. The fitness, wellness and gaming industries are also set to receive a boost by opportunities to sign contracts with retailers and build strong customer relationships.
The government will be organising the event in partnership with Noida-based event management and trade show services company, Indian Exhibition Services. The firm has also been successful in the staging of the ‘Sport India: India International Sporting Goods Show’ in New Delhi in 2017 and 2018.
On the sidelines, sports-related activities, seminars and panel discussions have been arranged. Sessions on topics such as ‘Sports Infrastructure’, ‘Sports Training-Modern Trends’ and ‘CSR in Sports’, ‘Startups in Sports’ and ‘Sports Marketing’ are set to be held on Friday by experts in sports administration, coaching, training as well as top athletes from Kerala.
Representatives of various sports federations, coaches from the Kerala State Sports Council and other top stakeholders of the sporting fraternity are set to attend the event.
During the three days, a special activity zone will be created to display ‘Fight Nights’ which will be conducted by the Kerala State Amateur Boxing Association.
Additionally, there will be demonstrations by the Kerala Karate Association, the Hooper Series by the Kerala Basketball Association and a close look into the world of scuba diving and underwater games will be organised for both sports promotion and entertainment purposes.
The exhibition comes as part of the Kerala government’s pledge to grant Rs 7 billion as part of its full-fledged sports development policy.
