LaLiga to create 2019-20 match fixtures with AI-driven software: Report

MADRID: LaLiga president Javier Tabas has spelled out the league’s plans to use a software with artificial intelligence for the first time in its history for scheduling next season’s fixtures.

In an interview with Spanish radio station RAC1, the league chief revealed that the new system is already out for testing and aims to find out the best possible matchups for the right dates in order to maximum viewership interest across the globe and in-stadia audiences.

He also declared that unlike rivals such as Premier League, LaLiga is opposed to scheduling a game on Christmas Day due to the disapproval by the players’ union.

However, it remains unknown whether LaLiga will be using its global partner, Microsoft’s AI for the same.
