Longines ends 11-year partnership with Roland Garros

PARIS: Swiss watchmaking giant Longines has confirmed that the 2018 French Open tournament at the Roland Garros was the final instance of the brand serving as the official timekeeper of the Grand Slam in the French capital city.

Talking about the partnership that began back in 2007, Longines has put out a short video on its social media handles featuring its brand ambassadors and tennis power couple Andre Agassi and Steffi Graf that pays tribute to Roland Garros and its 11-year experience there.

The development comes at an interesting time as this presents an opportunity for Rolex, Longines’ Swiss rivals to complete its own calendar slam in tennis sponsorship since it already serves as the official timekeeper and partner for the Australian Open, Wimbledon and US Open championships respectively.
