ROME: Serie A side AS Roma have become the latest sporting entity to extend its hand for supporting those affected by the Kerala floods disaster. The Italian football club confirmed the development on its official Twitter handle on Thursday in two tweets.
“The thoughts of everyone at #ASRoma are with those affected by the floods that have caused so much devastation in #Kerala. We’re in touch with the authorities to see what support we can offer. Fans can make a donation to the relief fund.”
“After #ASRoma’s first home match of the Serie A season, the club will auction off five match-worn shirts from our first team players to help raise money to donate to the disaster fund to #RebuildKerala,” the club wrote in a statement on Twitter.
Recently, Liverpool FC had also declared their intent to donate for the cause. Arsenal stars such as Petr Cech were seen lauding the Arsenal Kerala Supporters Club for their efforts and have pledged to give any assistance needed.
