SINGAPORE: Havas Sports & Entertainment, a division of Havas Media Asia Pacific, announced the recently concluded ‘Fight of Champions’ World Boxing Association (WBA) Welterweight Championship in Malaysia was showcased in more than 200 countries over the weekend.
The event, which saw Manny Pacquiao defeat Lucas Matthysse in a 7th round knockout, was beamed live on Sunday from the Axiata Arena in Kuala Lumpur and received a lot of traction despite the FIFA World Cup 2018 coming to a conclusion over the weekend, Havas claims.
The highly anticipated bout has received robust response from broadcasters across the Asia Pacific, Latin America, USA, Europe, Africa, MENA and the Caribbean, according to Havas. In India, the fight was aired on Discovery Communications branded sports channel DSport.
Havas Sports & Entertainment was appointed by fight promoters MP Promotions and Events as the international media rights and commercial partner.

Havas Sports & Entertainment secured a partnership deal for the ‘Fight of Champions’ with Petron Corporation, the Philippines’ largest oil refining and marketing company, which featured prominently across premium advertising and sponsorship opportunities before and during the event.
