JAMSHEDPUR: The BCCI will be bringing the IPL Fan Park to the eastern city of Jamshedpur for the second year in a row for the double header matches on the 19th and the 20th of May.
According to a report in The Avenue Mail, fans in the steel city can get the opportunity to watch the matches on a 32×18 ft giant screen.
Amit Siddheshwar of BCCI’s Cricket Operations hoped that this year would be a success as well as in 2017, as many as 12,000 people had turned up daily to watch the matches in the city.
‘Dhanbad created a record with the biggest public appearance (25,000 people) in Indian at the first fan park in the city held last week. We hope the same is repeated in Jamshedpur this weekend’, Siddheshwar said while addressing a press conference in Jamshedpur.
Siddheshwar added that many activities will be new this time apart from the look, the field, the theme, the metallic lights and interactive stalls for cricket enthusiasts. With the purpose being to make it a family outing, entry will also be free apart from music, stalls for merchandise, food, beverages and other activations by IPL’s official sponsors that will add to the electric atmosphere. For children, a Kids Zone, face painting, games stalls will also be arranged.
“The primary objective is to bring families together so that they can have a stadium like experience in their own city, hence there are special arrangements made to make it an event that women and children friendly. The entry for the event is free but on a first come first serve basis because of limited number of seats,” the BCCI official continued.
Across IPL fan parks in the country, this year has been more successful than 2017 as 300,000 cricket enthusiasts have already watched the matches.
