MUMBAI: As a part of ‘YouTube Originals’, the Google-owned video website has announced that it will air a docuseries called Best Shot that has been co-produced by NBA legend LeBron James. He will be co-producing the 8-part series with SpringHill Entertainment.
According to a report in sporttechie.com, the docuseries stars former player Jay Williams, who will be mentoring the Newark Central High School Blue Devils. Youtube is strengthening its sporting portfolio and according to its research, it suggested that nearly 70% of viewers were watching its content on a TV screen, which has sparked their interest in providing longer-form content videos than just short ones.
“Today, more than ever, users are seeking out content online,” YouTube CEO Susan Wojcicki said on stage during the YouTube Brandcast 2018 presentation on May 3 in New York City.
“And with an open platform, we see an opportunity to inspire creativity, to share valuable information and to build meaningful communities at scale.”
When it comes to live sports, YouTube TV sponsorships have increased in events such as the Major League Baseball’s World Series, Major League Soccer’s Seattle Sounders and LAFC and the NBA finals.
