Cristiano Ronaldo invests in sports streaming venture LiveModeTV

CRISTIANO RONALDO has acquired a stake in LiveModeTV, the international streaming channel linked to Brazil’s CazéTV, expanding his presence in digital media ahead of the next World Cup. Ronaldo, recognised as the world’s first billionaire footballer, continues to diversify his investments beyond football.

Ronaldo said, “The mission is to put sports out there for everyone, in a whole new inspiring way,” Ronaldo said in an emailed statement to Bloomberg News. The goal is to enhance reach and engagement “through YouTube broadcasts and content distributed across all social media platforms.”

LiveModeTV is the international arm of LiveMode, the company behind Brazil’s CazéTV platform founded by influencer Casimiro Miguel. The channel recently launched in Portugal to provide free, digital-first coverage of the 2026 FIFA World Cup.

Ronaldo did not disclose the size of his investment, describing it only as a “relevant stake.” His net worth is estimated at around $1.4 billion, with most of his fortune stemming from career earnings, including his current contract with Saudi club Al-Nassr, rather than his business ventures, which include the CR7 brand, hotels, gyms, and a media group.

CazéTV and LiveMode operate on a model that offers premium sports content free on YouTube, relying on advertising and sponsorships rather than subscriptions. The platform recorded 3.7 billion views on YouTube in Brazil alone in 2025. LiveMode is looking to scale internationally by leveraging Ronaldo’s reach; he has over 660 million Instagram followers, making him the most followed person on the platform.
