BCCI invites IPL partner rights bids; fantasy sports platforms ok’d

The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) on Monday announced the release of Request for Quotation (RFQ) for Official Partner Rights for the Indian Premier League.

The Governing Council of the IPL invites bids from reputed entities for acquiring the Official Partner Rights for the Indian Premier League. The detailed terms and conditions governing the tender process including eligibility requirements, process for submissions of bids, rights and obligations, etc. are contained in the ‘Request for Quotation’ (“RFQ”)  document which will be made available on receipt of payment of a non-refundable fee of INR 5,00,000 (Indian Rupees Five Lakh Only) plus any applicable Goods and Services Tax. 

The RFQ will be available for purchase till February 19. Interested parties are requested to email the details of payment made for the purchase of the RFQ to [email protected]

However, only those satisfying the eligibility criteria set out in the RFQ and subject to the other terms and conditions set out therein, shall be eligible to bid. It is clarified that merely purchasing the RFQ does not entitle any person to bid.

Alcohol Products; 
Betting; 
Cryptocurrency; 
Real Money Gaming (excluding Fantasy Sports Gaming);
Tobacco; 
E-Commerce Super App;
Four-Wheeler Passenger Automobile;
one which is likely to offend public morals such as, including but not limited to, pornography.

Earlier, the title sponsorship rights for the IPL was awarded to TATA Group for a period of five years. 

The Indian conglomerate, with diverse verticals, renewed its association with the BCCI for a record-breaking value of Rs 2,500 crore — the highest-ever sponsorship amount in the history of the league.

The TATA Group previously held the title sponsorship rights for the IPL in 2022 and 2023 and is also the title sponsor of the Women’s Premier League, the biggest women’s T20 league in the world.
