At the 92nd Annual General Meeting (AGM) of the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) in Goa on Monday, Arun Dhumal and Avishek Dalmiya were re-elected unopposed.
Dhumal, brother of Union Sports Minister Anurag Thakur, is also the chairman of the Indian Premier League governing council.
Meanwhile, Pragyan Ojha, a representative of the toothless Indian Cricketers’ Association, has stepped down as a member of the IPL governing council. Ojha’s vacant slot will now be filled up only after the ICA elects a new representative, Sportstar reports.
The BCCI has listed an 18-point agenda for the AGM, Cricbuzz reports, a few of which the cricket website listed are:
Election and induction of 2 (two) representatives of the General Body into the Governing Council of the IPL.
Induction of 1 (one) representative of the Indian Cricketers’ Association into the Governing Council of the IPL.
Appointment of the Cricket Committees and Standing Committees as mentioned in Rules 26 and 25, respectively.
