Cricket star Dinesh Karthik and ace squash player Dipika Pallikal have teamed up with Bengaluru-based sports tech startup Fanplay IoT as strategic partners.
The husband-wife duo will help improve Fanplay’s products and plans, guide product development and spread the word about Fanplay globally.
Dinesh, known as the ‘Finisher’ for his late-game performances, shared, “This is an exciting field for us. As athletes, we get what Fanplay aims for – uniting the sports world on a single data platform and creating conversations among Players, Kids, and Fans. We’re joining them because of their expertise in Wearable and IoT Tech and their fan engagement platform that captures fans’ emotions.”
Fanplay IoT is a sports tech platform offering everything from fan engagement to advanced sports wearables. Their key product includes what is claimed to be India’s 1st smart Jersey that tracks heart-rate and other important data for athletes.
Dipika mentioned, “Fanplay stands out in the sports tech field by introducing tested technologies. Their smart jersey can be crucial for monitoring women’s sports performance, enabling data-driven training.”
Mohan Kumar, founder and CEO of Fanplay IoT, expressed excitement about having Dipika and Dinesh on board. “Their involvement will bring innovative solutions for athletes’ problems and engaging fans,” averred Mohan.
Fanplay IoT’s fan engagement platform captures fans’ motions and emotions through their web portal, app, and smart merchandise. Fanplay IoT started at IISc, Bengaluru, and is supported by the Ministry of Textiles and HYPE Sports Tech Accelerator.
