HYDERABAD: Hyderabad Runners has announced the 12th edition of the NMDC Hyderabad Marathon 2023, and launched the race T-shirt, here on Monday.
The T-shirts were launched by Amitava Mukherjee, chairman-cum-managing director (Addl-Charge) & Director Finance NMDC; Naarayan TV, chief marketing officer, IDFC FIRST Bank Ltd; Nikhat Zareen, world boxing champion; and Prashant Morparia, race director, NMDC Hyderabad Marathon, a media statement said.
Amitava Mukherjee said “The NMDC Hyderabad Marathon is an iconic tribute to the Fit India Movement.” Beyond
campaigning for health and fitness, the Hyderabad Marathon, Powered by IDFC FIRST Bank, brings with it a positive spirit and a sense of belonging to this incredible city, he added.
Nikhat Zareen said, “I am happy to see this event growing in popularity. Me being from Hyderabad, it could not have been a better association than NMDC Hyderabad Marathon which is not only one of India’s leading marathons but the largest community event bringing across all sections of the society for the cause of active lifestyle.”
Prashant Morparia said the marathon was getting bigger and bigger with each passing year. The 12th edition which is stated to be held on August 26 and 27 is expected to have a record 20,000 participants or even more from across India and overseas, he said.
The running route or course is certified by the IAAF(International Amateur Athletic Federation) and also recognized by the Athletic Federation of India and the Telangana Athletics Association, the statement said.
