Delhi Capitals has appointed Sunil Gupta as its CEO to fill the vacancy left by Dhiraj Malhotra, who “moved on” from the Indian Premier League franchise four months ago.
Gupta joins Delhi Capitals from adidas India, where he was chief marketing officer. During his seven-and-a-half-year stint with the sportswear giant, Gupta served across various roles including BU head – adidas Running for over a year, head – Concept to Consumer (adidas) for a year, Brand director – Reebok India for two years and finally as CMO – adidas India for three years.
Gupta has earlier had stints with Coca-Cola India and Marico Ltd.
In a LinkedIn post, Gupta wrote: “Cricket was my first love.
“I feel blessed to find myself in a place where I get to do what I love, everyday.”
