Agilitas launches Lotto in India; aims to build ₹1,000cr brand

Agilitas Sports has announced the launch of Italian sportswear brand Lotto in India, with plans to scale the brand significantly in the coming years. The company aims to build Lotto into a ₹1,000 crore ($116.7 million) brand in India over the next five years.

Agilitas, a sportswear and athleisure solutions platform, holds exclusive rights to distribute and grow the Lotto brand in India, South Africa, and Australia, for which it acquired a 40-year license in April 2024.

Over the next year, the brand is expected to expand into apparel, footwear, and accessories. The focus will be on building a lifestyle-led, multi-market presence that blends global heritage with local execution.

Founded in Montebelluna, Italy, Lotto has been associated with sports and fashion for over five decades. The India rollout begins with Lotto Leggenda, a sneaker range inspired by archival designs from the 1970s to 1990s. While the designs originate in Italy, manufacturing is now based in India through Mochiko Shoes, the country’s largest branded footwear manufacturer, which Agilitas owns.

Agilitas acquired Mochiko in September 2023, marking its first acquisition with an undisclosed all-cash deal.

The launch campaign features cricketers Yuvraj Singh and Abhishek Sharma, who appear in a short video where they attempt to pronounce the Italian phrase, “Lotto è un marchio di eredità italiana” (“Lotto is a brand of Italian heritage”). The content sets a relaxed and conversational tone, with the two athletes engaging in light-hearted moments that contrast typical product-led sportswear promotions.

Founded in Montebelluna, Italy, Lotto has been associated with sports and fashion for over five decades. In India, its initial product offering includes Lotto Leggenda, a premium sneaker line inspired by retro designs from past decades. The products are designed in Italy and manufactured in India through Agilitas’s footwear arm, Mochiko Shoes – the country’s largest manufacturer of sports shoes.

Abhishek Ganguly, co-founder & CEO, Agilitas Sports, said: “This isn’t just a market entry – it’s the start of building a brand fuelled by ambition and strong category dominance. Lotto has global legacy, but we’re shaping it for modern India. The launch content is unfiltered and unscripted because that’s how we plan to build this brand: with authenticity, intrigue and fun.”

Yuvraj’s association with the founding team and Abhishek Ganguly dates back to 2011. He is a friend and an early investor of the company.

Yuvraj commented: Lotto’s vibe is different — it’s expressive, stylish, and unapologetically fun. That’s what drew me in. As an athlete and entrepreneur, I want to back brands with soul. And this is only the start, with a very exciting YWC x Lotto collab coming soon.”

Abhishek Sharma added: “Lotto lets you be yourself – it’s bold, effortless, and doesn’t try too hard. That’s what makes it stand out. I’m thrilled to be part of a brand that blends style and sport so seamlessly. The product looks sharp, feels great, and has a vibe I really connect with. For me, this is more than just a partnership- it’s about repping something I truly believe in.”
