CHANDIGARH: Baseline Ventures has signed on 2008 Olympic Gold medallist Abhinav Bindra to its athletes roster.
The sports management company will exclusively manage all commercial deals for Bindra, handling brand endorsements, sponsorships, and licensing.
Bindra, India’s first individual Gold medallist at the 2008 Beijing Olympics, also secured the country’s first World Championship Gold in Air Rifle Shooting. Born in Dehradun, he has achieved over 150 individual medals over more than two decades, culminating in a fourth-place finish at the Rio Olympics in 2016. Bindra’s remarkable career includes awards like the Arjuna Award, Rajiv Gandhi Khel Ratna Award, and Padma Bhushan, as well as the prestigious Blue Cross from the International Shooting Sport Federation. He holds the honorary title of Lt. Col. in the Territorial Army.
Bindra, besides his sports career, leads various initiatives through the Abhinav Bindra Foundation (ABFT). The foundation promotes social change using sports, focusing on education and upliftment. Their STEAM scholarship program helps grassroots athletes in Science, Engineering, Analytics, and Medicine. Other efforts include Sport Science Interventions, Athlete Mental Wellness, and the Physiotherapy Institute in Odisha. The ‘Sport4Her’ program supports female athletes, and their Olympic Values Education Program benefits school children in partnership with the IOC and local governments.
Bindra shared his thoughts on this occasion, “I am looking forward to working closely with Baseline Ventures to create valuable and meaningful collaborations. Their expertise in sports marketing is well known and I hope to partner with them to nurture mutual goals.”
