Casio partners boxing brand for fitness watch

DOVER, N.J.: Casio G-SHOCK has announced an all-new timepiece made in collaboration with Everlast, the preeminent brand in boxing since 1910.

The new GBA800EL-4A arrives in a matte red reminiscent of boxing gloves, with the world-famous Everlast logo engraved on the case back. The distinguished logo also appears on the dial and band, with the model’s LED backlight feature highlighting the brand’s motto, “Choice of Champions” on the digital front display.

The GBA800EL-4A is made with the modern fitness enthusiast in mind, equipped with a three-axis acceleration sensor to keep track of step count as well as walking/running pace. The digital display also shows the step count and hourly step graph, while the status indicator displays the target achievement rate.

Arriving with Bluetooth connectivity capabilities via the G-SHOCK Connected app, users can see graphs of steps taken, as well as calories burned broken down by five metabolic equivalent (MET) levels for each day, week and month. The app can also display the exact location on a map where the wearer’s steps were taken, perfect for tracking outdoor runs or workouts this summer.

The new GBA800 model is also ideal for interval workouts, allowing wearers to configure up to 20 sets of five timers on the app and then send the created workout to the watch to start training right away.

The GBA800EL-4A also comes equipped with standard G-SHOCK technology including:

200M water resistance and shock resistance
    Dual Time
    Auto Super Illuminator LED light
    Step Counter
    Stopwatch and countdown timer
    5 daily alarms
    12/24 Hr. Time Formats

The GBA800EL-4A will retail for $160 and will be available for purchase beginning in July at standard G-SHOCK retailers including Macy’s, the G-SHOCK Soho Store, and gshock.com.
