CYCLING FEDERATION OF INDIA (CFI) and Vedanta Limited, India’s critical minerals, transition metals, energy, and technology conglomerate, partnered for the Tour de Thar, an international-level desert endurance cycling event scheduled for 23 November in Bikaner, Rajasthan.
The curtain raiser in New Delhi was attended by Union Minister for Law and Justice, Arjun Ram Meghwal, Union Minister for Labour & Employment and Youth Affairs & Sports, Dr Mansukh Mandaviya, along with senior Vedanta leadership. Organised by the CFI, the event will welcome cyclists from India and overseas to take part in this endurance challenge.
The event will also support Vedanta’s #CycleForZeroHunger initiative. Under this campaign, Vedanta will contribute nutritional Poshan Packs to children at its Nand Ghars, modernised anganwadis in rural India for every kilometre ridden during the race.
Participants will cycle through the striking landscapes of the Thar Desert, following scenic stretches along the Amritsar–Jamnagar Expressway. The race route, running from Norangdesar to Deshnok near Bikaner, is expected to attract more than 2,500 professional cyclists, adventure riders, and community participants. Competitors will race across three endurance formats: 100 km, 200 km, and 300 km.
Starting from Norangdesar and ending at Deshnok near Bikaner, the event drew more than 2,500 professional cyclists, adventure enthusiasts, and community riders. Participants took on the desert’s challenging winds and golden terrain across three competitive categories: 100 km, 200 km, and 300 km.
Supported by Namo Fit India Cycle Clubs under the Fit India Movement, the event aims to champion India’s vision of a healthier, more active, and more sustainable future.
