BENGALURU: The M Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru, venue for the second and final cricket Test between India and a thus far pathetic Sri Lankan side, will see a full capacity crowd in India for the first time since Covid hit the world.
The Karnataka State Cricket Association is throwing open the whole stadium to fans for the pink ball Test, against the earlier decision to limit it to 50%, reportedly due to “overwhelming demand”.
Where said demand is coming from remains a mystery, seeing as the hosts soundly thrashed the Sri Lankans in Mohali to lead the two-match series 1-0. And the second Test under lights is expected to follow a similar script. Unless Bengaluru’s cricket fans enjoy turning up for “no-contests” that is.
Over the counter sales will commence at 10 am on Friday at the stadium.
