TORONTO: DAZN, the dedicated OTT live sports streaming service backed by Perform Group, has bagged the digital rights to show all cricket matches featuring Pakistan, Sri Lanka and West Indies in Canada for a period of 2 years.
DAZN had also recently streamed the England vs Pakistan Test series in the country, having also signed a 4-year agreement with the England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB). The agreement involves the rights for 19 international matches, all of England’s home matches, County T20 competitions, Women’s T20 League matches, and other ECB hosted matches and tournaments.
New users will receive a one-month free trial before paying for subscription, while DAZN promises to also provide highlights of these matches in the future.
“Cricket is one of the most popular sports in the world,” said Joseph Markowski, SVP Commercial & Partnerships, DAZN.
“We’re thrilled to be able to offer elite international cricket to the many fans within Canada’s multicultural and Commonwealth expat communities.”
DAZN has made for itself in sports by acquiring rights for several big-ticket sporting properties such as NBA, NFL, Serie A, UEFA Champions League, PGA Tour and MotoGP and has made a name for itself in countries such as Italy, Germany, Switzerland and India.
