CRICKET WEST INDIES (CWI) and Caribbean Premier League (CPL) organisers have announced Limacol as the new title sponsor of the Women’s Caribbean Premier League (WCPL), marking a significant commercial milestone for the region’s premier women’s T20 franchise competition.
Under the agreement, the tournament will be known as the Limacol Women’s Caribbean Premier League, with the partnership taking effect from the 2026 edition.
The sponsorship strengthens the commercial foundation of the Women’s Caribbean Premier League as it continues to establish itself as one of the leading women’s franchise cricket competitions outside the traditional cricket powerhouses.
Limacol, a well-known Caribbean healthcare and pain relief brand manufactured by Caribbean Bottling Company, has previously been associated with cricket in the region and is expanding its investment in the women’s game through the new title partnership.
The 2026 Limacol Women’s Caribbean Premier League is scheduled to be played alongside the men’s Caribbean Premier League, continuing the tournament’s strategy of leveraging the CPL platform to maximise visibility, fan engagement and commercial value. The competition will feature the region’s leading women’s cricketers alongside international stars, providing an important platform for player development ahead of major ICC events.
CPL Chief Executive Officer Pete Russell welcomed the partnership, describing Limacol as a long-standing supporter of Caribbean cricket. He said the title sponsorship represents another important step in the continued growth of the Women’s Caribbean Premier League and reflects increasing commercial confidence in women’s cricket across the region.
Since its launch in 2022, the Women’s Caribbean Premier League has played a pivotal role in raising the profile of women’s cricket in the Caribbean. The tournament has featured three franchises—Barbados Royals, Guyana Amazon Warriors and Trinbago Knight Riders—and has attracted several of the world’s leading players, helping strengthen the region’s talent pathway while enhancing the global visibility of Caribbean women’s cricket.
The title sponsorship comes at a time when Cricket West Indies is pursuing an ambitious commercial transformation strategy. The governing body has recently announced several initiatives aimed at improving its long-term financial sustainability, including appointing global advisory firm Teneo to review its commercial operations and organisational structure, while also seeking international partnerships for infrastructure development.
