NEW DELHI: The second edition of the Sport Symposium on ‘France India Sports Business’, took place on 26 November at the Embassy of France in New Delhi. The event was organised by Business France, the country’s trade and investment Commission, which had also roped in Yes Bank as its official Knowledge Partner.
France ambassador for sport, Philippe Vinogradoff attended the function with a delegation of eight sports businesses from the country. Some of them had partnered in the 2018 FIFA World Cup in Russia. Paris Saint Germain was the renowned brand name present alongside Sodikart, ABEO, Metalu Plast and Alcor Equipements. Their aim was to share insights about strategy and latest technologies used by them, with some key players of India’s sports sector.
“India has strong potential as it is a very young country. As of now, 10 to 13 French companies are present in India in this sector and I am sure that in the years to come, more French companies will choose India to develop their business in this country,” Vinogradoff said.
With its structured sports sector, France is an important player in the global sports industry. This event started with a conference that was held to bring together policy makers, leading business minds and eminent sportspersons to identify key sectors of growth that would make sports a high-potential sunrise industry for investments.
It was also the perfect occasion to launch the first release of the knowledge paper: ‘Business of Sport – Rumble under our feet’ co-published by Business France & Yes Bank which have compiled different articles about the sports sector from a business point of view.
