MUMBAI: Paytm has been announced as the official ticketing partner for the upcoming Vodafone Premier Badminton League (PBL).
Organised by Sportzlive under the aegis of Badminton Association of India (BAI), PBL will make use of India’s leading payment gateway as well as e-commerce platform to manage ticketing for the fourth edition of the league.
The 23-day event will see nine teams – Delhi Dashers, Ahmadabad Smash Masters, Awadhe Warriors, Bengaluru Raptors, Mumbai Rockets, Hyderabad Hunters, Chennai Smashers, North Eastern Warriors and Pune 7 Aces – slug it out across five cities. While the inaugural rounds will be held in Mumbai (December 22-24), followed by Hyderabad (December 25-28), Pune (December 29-January 1), and Ahmedabad (January 2-6), Bengaluru (January 7-13) will host the semi-finals and the final.
The league, which offers a prize purse of Rs 60 million this season, has Hyderabad Hunters, which was led by 2016 Olympic champion Carolina Marin, as defending champions.
