Dream Sports, Microsoft collab to ‘power India’s gaming future’

Dream Sports has teamed up with Microsoft through a new collaboration that has the stated aim to advance India’s gaming ecosystem and drive future gaming innovations.

The partnership, unveiled at the World Audio Visual & Entertainment Summit 2025 (WAVES) in Mumbai, will explore ways to bring Microsoft’s gaming portfolio to Indian audiences and enhance local gaming experiences with AI. Leveraging Dream Sports’ deep insights into India’s young, tech-driven gamer base, the two aim to unlock the market’s full potential.

Commenting on the partnership, Harsh Jain, co-founder & CEO, Dream Sports said: “We are eager to build innovative & future-ready experiences by leveraging Microsoft’s deep technical & AI expertise along with our base of 250 million Indian users. We look forward to working together to redefine the future of online gaming in India.”

We are excited to explore a collaboration with Dream Sports, leveraging their vast ecosystem of 250 million users. Together, Microsoft and Dream Sports aim to elevate the Indian gaming landscape by tailoring it to local needs and delivering transformative AI-driven experiences,” said Microsoft India and South Asia president Puneet Chandok.

As India’s gaming industry undergoes rapid transformation, the collaboration aims to harness emerging tech for richer experiences and stronger developer infrastructure, marking the start of a long-term innovation-focused partnership.

Driving this vision is India’s fast-growing digital infrastructure and its rise as the world’s second-largest mobile gaming market, now worth $3.8 billion in FY24 with nearly 600 million gamers. Boosted by widespread internet access, smartphone adoption and growing support from public, policy, investor and academic circles, India’s gaming base has expanded rapidly, with 66 per cent from non-metros and 44 per cent female gamers.
