Dream11 3rd among top advertisers in India for 2019: Study

MUMBAI: Leading Indian fantasy sports platform Dream 11 has been ranked at number three behind Hindustan Unilever Ltd and Amazon Online India (in that order), according to the Pitch Madison Advertising Report 2020, which lists the top 50 advertisers of India for the year 2019 based on approximate ad spends. 

As per the report: “The new kid on the block is fantasy sports platform Dream11, a cricket-based digital game, ranked No. 3. The other new players (compared to 2018 list) are Oppo, Byju’s, Swiggy, BJP, MRF, Havells and Kia Motors. Three out of the Top 10 advertisers are from the FMCG sector.”

The Top 50 advertisers account for 33% (last year, it was 35%) of the Adex. The Top 10 advertisers account for 14% (down from 16% last year) of Adex and contribute to 43% (last year, it was 46%) of the Top 50 list. 

Founded in 2008 by Harsh Jain and Bhavit Sheth, Dream 11 is a platform for sports games with 70 million+ users playing fantasy cricket, football, kabaddi, basketball and Hockey. In 2018 Dream 11 signed MS Dhoni as a brand ambassador for the app and is also one of the official partners for the IPL.

HUL continues to lead the pack with spends of about Rs 34 billion, followed by Amazon, Dream11, Reliance, Maruti, P&G, Vivo, Samsung, Oppo and Vini to make up the Top 10 list.
