THE UNION SPORTS MINISTRY and the Sports Authority of India (SAI) plan to deploy dedicated IT advisors within National Sports Federations (NSFs) as part of the National Sports Digital Ecosystem (NSDE).
The advisors will help federations manage digital platforms covering athlete data, competition planning, reporting, and administrative coordination, with a focus on preparations for the 2030 Commonwealth Games.
Existing platforms under the NSDE framework include the Annual Training and Competition Calendar, the Games Management System, the Sports for Women Portal, and the National Sports Repository System, with planned integration with DigiLocker.
The IT advisors will assist federations with calendar preparation, tournament result uploads, athlete nominations, and digital coordination with SAI and the ministry.
Mansukh Mandaviya, Minister of Youth Affairs and Sports, Government of India, said: “This initiative is being launched to streamline federation-specific digital systems and ensure more effective planning of competitions, national coaching camps, athlete participation, administrative processes, and real-time coordination. India is moving forward to build a strong sports ecosystem keeping in mind the 2030 Commonwealth Games and long-term Olympic goals.”
