TURIN: Juventus FC announced Monday that China Merchants Bank will be linked with the Serie A giants through to 2020 as the new official bank in China as the club looks for growth in the region.
Giorgio Ricci, co-chief revenue officer – Global Partnership and Corporate Revenues, opined: “We are proud to announce this Partnership, it is the fifth agreement signed with a leading brand in Asia in the last year, and we are proud to be linked to a leading company like China Merchants Bank. This agreement confirms the great potential of a country like China for the Club’s development objectives.”
The Partnership, which is China Merchants Bank’s first with a football club, will give the opportunity to create co-branded payment cards using Juventus visual identity, characterised by its recognisable symbols such as the logo and the shirt. The Chinese bank will also have the opportunity to offer a variety of experiential assets dedicated to the involvement of fans and a series of discounts dedicated to the Bianconeri fans in China.
“The Partnership with Juventus is the first-ever agreement China Merchants Bank has signed with a football club,” said China Merchants Bank General Manager Zhang Dong. “The co-branded credit card is just one of several operations dedicated to football fans in the territory of China.”
