Malayalam film industry superstar Mohanlal has been named as the brand ambassador of the upcoming Kerala Cricket League (KCL), which kicks off it inaugural edition in September.
Mohanlal will be part of all the campaigns for the franchise-based Twenty20 league, which is scheduled to take place at the Greenfield Stadium at Karyavattom in Thiruvananthapuram.
It bears noting that Mohanlal was earlier brand ambassador of Indian Super League franchise Kerala Blasters in the fifth season of the ISL in 2018-2019.
Six teams will compete in the KCL, which will be held under the rules and regulations of the Board of Cricket Control in India (BCCI) and the International Cricket Council (ICC).
The event will begin as soon as the T-20 league in neighbouring Karnataka concludes.
The state league will be held over a period of 19 days, including two reserve days, in which six teams will play a total of 33 matches.
Only players registered in Kerala will be able to play in the league.
