Odisha govt to sponsor Indian Arrows, U-15 national team: Report

NEW DELHI: After taking on the role of patron state for the country’s one time national sport hockey, the Odisha government has now extended support to football. 

The state government has decided to sponsor the All India Football Federation’s development team Indian Arrows for the upcoming season of the Hero I-League in a landmark deal reportedly worth around Rs50 million.

Aside from the Indian Arrows, which is made up of players who represented India in last year’s FIFA U-17 World Cup, the sponsorship deal will also cover India’s under-15 football team, Times of India reports. 

The Odisha government will host the Arrows and the U-15 national team at the Kalinga stadium in Bhubaneswar. The deal covers the two teams boarding and lodging in Bhubaneswar as well as access to the stadium facilities, the daily further reports.
