Sanju Samson, captain of Indian Premier League franchise Rajasthan Royals, has (not surprisingly) become the most expensive player in the short history of the Kerala Cricket League.
Ahead of KCL’s second edition, Samson was snapped up by the Kochi Blue Tigers for Rs 2.6 million. This will also mark the 30-year-old’s debut in the league, which is conducted under the aegis of the Kerala Cricket Association. The tournament is scheduled to run from August 21 to September 6.
Each KCL team has a total spending cap of Rs 5 million, making the Kochi Blue Tigers’ investment in Samson particularly significant.
