PRO WRESTLING LEAGUE (PWL) has announced that the Sony Sports Network will serve as its official broadcast partner for the league’s fifth season, marking the competition’s return after a seven-year break.
Under the agreement, Sony Sports Network will deliver live coverage of all PWL matches across India via Sony Sports Ten 4 and Sony Sports Ten 5. Fans will also be able to stream the action on Sony LIV, ensuring comprehensive access across both television and digital platforms.
The 2026 season will feature six city-based franchise teams: Delhi Dangal Warriors, Tiigers of Mumbai Dangal, Haryana Thunders, Punjab Royals, Maharashtra Kesari and UP Dominators; competing in a fast-paced format designed to enhance fan engagement and on-mat intensity.
The league will showcase a mix of Indian wrestlers and international stars, combining Olympic-style wrestling with a modern league structure. At the player auctions held on Saturday, franchises signed a total of 63 domestic and overseas wrestlers from a pool of more than 250 athletes representing 16 countries, with spending exceeding Rs 11 crore.
PWL chief executive officer Akhil Gupta said, “We are thrilled to partner with Sony Sports Network, one of the most respected sports broadcasters in the country to bring the Pro Wrestling League back into living rooms nationwide. This collaboration is a major milestone in our mission to grow wrestling’s appeal, celebrate its athletes, and build a sustainable future for the sport in India and abroad.”
