MUMBAI: TAM Sports has released its ‘TAM AdEx – Quarterly Advertising Report on Sports Channel Genre for Jul-Sept ’23’.
Highlights JUL-SEPT’23: SPORTS GENRE
1. The Sports channel Genre experienced a 53% increase in advertising volumes during Apr-Jun ’23 when compared to Jan-Mar ’23.
2. During Jul-Sept ’23, the ‘Durables’ sector emerged as a newcomer among the top 10 sectors, with the ‘Services’ sector leading the list.
3. ‘Ecom-Media/Ent./Social Media’ was the leadingvcategory with 39% share of ad volumes in Jul-Sept ’23.
4. ‘One9 Trion’ and ‘Flipkart.Com’ were exclusive advertisers present in the top 10 list during Jul-Sept ’23 compared to Apr-Jun ’23.
5. The ‘Jiocinema App’ maintained its position as the top brand throughout the first, second, and third quarters of 2023.
6. ‘Hair Removers’ category saw highest increase in Ad secondages with growth of 81%. 30+ categories registered Positive growth.
7. The Cricket program dominated the Sports Channel Genre for four consecutive quarters, holding over 50% of the ad volumes, making it the most prominent program genre.
Television Ad Volumes in Sports Genre during Jul-Sept ’23 and Apr-Jun ’23 Vs Jan-Mar ’23
Advertising on Television for Sports Genre witnessed growth in ad volumes of 53% during Apr-Jun’23 over Jan-Mar ’23. Whereas, Jul-Sept ’23 observed de-growth of 10% in ad volumes for Sports Genre over Jan-Mar ’23.
Compared to Jul-Sept ’22, ad volumes in Sports Genre witnessed growth of 5% in Jul-Sept ’23.
‘Services’ Sector retained its 1st position wit 50% share of ad volumes in Jul-Sept ’23 over Apr-Jun ’23
During Jul-Sept ’23, Services and Food & Beverages sectors retained their 1st and 2nd positions with 50% and 7% share of ad volumes over Apr-Jun ’23.
Together, the top 10 sectors covered 88% share of ad volumes on Television Advertising for Sports Genre.
Durables was the only new sector that entered the top 10 list during Jul-Sept ’23, compared to its 12th position in Apr-Jun ’23.
‘Ecom-Media/Ent./Social Media’ retained its 1st position in Jul-Sept’23 over Apr-Jun ’23
Ecom-Media/Entertainment/Social Media retained its 1st position with 39% share of ad volumes in Jul-Sept ’23 over Apr-Jun ’23.
During Jul-Sept ’23, 4 categories entered the top 10 list compared to Apr-Jun ’23.
Ecom-Pharma/Healthcare was the only New Category that was present in Jul-Sept ’23 compared to Apr-Jun ’23.
The top 10 categories collectively added 64% share of ad volumes in Jul-Sept ’23.
‘Reliance Jio Infocomm’ was the leading Advertiser in the first three quarters of Y 2023
International Cricket Council, GCMMF and Vini Product were the new entrants in the top 10 advertiser list in Jul-Sept ’23 over Apr-Jun ’23.
During Jul-Sept ’23, One8 Trion and Flipkart.Com were the exclusive advertisers that entered the top 10 list compared to Apr-Jun ’23.
The top 10 advertisers contributed 62% share of ad volumes in Jul-Sept ’23.
‘Five’ brands were new entrants in the top 10 list in Jul-Sept ’23 over Apr-Jun ’23
Jiocinema App retained its 1st position throughout the first three quarters of Y 2023.
During Jul-Sept ’23, the top 10 brands covered 53% share of ad volumes on Television Advertising for Sports Genre.
Total 5 brands were new entrants in the top 10 brand list in Jul-Sept’23 over Apr-Jun’23. Also, there were 2 exclusive brands present in Jul-Sept ’23 compared to Apr-Jun ’23.
Top Growing Categories : 30+ Categories registered Positive Growth
‘Associations/Social/Cultural Organization’ categories saw highest increase in ad secondages with 8 times growth on Television Advertising in Sports channel Genre.
In terms of growth % among Top 10 categories, Hair Oils witnessed highest growth of 34 Times during Jul-Sept ’23 over Apr-Jun ’23.
