Taiwan’s leading badminton brand, “Victor Sports,” opened its first store in the Indian capital, Delhi, on Monday, marking a renewed push into the Indian market following the COVID-19 pandemic.
The store, located in the Moti Nagar area of West Delhi, was inaugurated by Taiwanese Representative Baushuan Ger, along with representative staff, local Taiwanese business leaders, trade association personnel, and Victor Sports’ Indian brand ambassadors Ashwini Ponnappa and Prannoy HS.
Victor Sports had previously opened stores in Bangalore and Dehradun in India but had to close during the COVID-19 lockdowns. The opening of the Delhi store is the brand’s re-entry into the Indian market.
Representative Ger says it is a “significant milestone” in cultural and commercial exchanges between Taiwan and India. He says it shows the two countries’ deepening connection and mutual respect through a shared passion for sports, particularly badminton.
He adds that Victor Sports’ expansion in India demonstrates shared values, pursuit of excellence, and commitment to nurturing talent in the sports industry.
Hsiung Hua-pin, general manager of Victor Sports India, says that with 426 stores or showrooms worldwide, the opening of the first official store in Delhi marks the beginning of their India plan.
