Tata Steel, PGTI announce 17th Tata Open Golf

JAMSHEDPUR: The Tata Steel Group and PGTI have announced the 17th TATA Open Golf which will be held here from Thursday running through to Sunday, 23 December.
 
The four-day tournament will be hosted at Steel City’s Golmuri Golf Course here. The Pro-Am was played on Wednesday. The event offers a rich prize purse of Rs 10 million and constitutes the last leg of the 2018 PGTI season.

The tournament features some of the top Indian professionals such as Asian Tour winners Khalin Joshi, Rashid Khan, Chikkarangappa and Chiragh Kumar, to name a few. The top foreign players in the field are Sri Lankans Anura Rohana (defending champion), Mithun Perera, N Thangaraja and K Prabagaran as well as Australian Kunal Bhasin.

The local challenge is being led by professional Karan Taunk of Jamshedpur. The field also features three leading amateurs from Jamshedpur, Navtez Singh, Aditya Panchamiya and Armaan Parikh.

The tournament venue, the Golmuri Golf Course, is a lush green, beautiful and very well-maintained golf course which doesn’t allow golfers any room for error.
