UAE likely Asia Cup host; tourney may kick off Sep 10: Report

The tentative date for the start of the Asia Cup 2025, for which India are the designated hosts, is reportedly September 10.

The Asian Cricket Council (ACC) will likely publish the timetable for the six-nation competition in early July, Times of India reports.

Though India is the official host of this year’s event, the competition is expected to be staged in the UAE owing to the political tensions in the region, TOI, quoting a top BCCI source, reports.

Per the daily, the ACC could “possibly” release the schedule of the six-team tournament in the first week of July.

Asia Cup 2025 format and teams
This year’s edition will be played in the T20 format to help teams prepare for the T20 World Cup 2026.

Six teams confirmed to participate:
India
Pakistan
Sri Lanka
Afghanistan
Bangladesh
United Arab Emirates (UAE)
